Mazda Engine Service

The Keys to Keeping MAZDA Engines Running at Max Performance

The engine is the heart of your Mazda vehicle, and it’s essential to keep it beating in a steady rhythm. There are several key elements that require maintenance and care to ensure Mazda engines are reliable and performing at their best. Medlin Mazda in Wilson, NC, shares these with you.

Engine Components

When you schedule Mazda service, the technicians in our service center will visually examine your engine and all its parts to make sure everything is where it’s supposed to be, and all is in good condition. They’ll also review the sensors and any electronic diagnostics with which your vehicle is equipped.

Ignition Parts

Over time, the ignition wires that help spark fuel into energy may degrade and get worn down, and could cause your car’s engine to shake. The ignition module and the ignition coil pack also need to be checked to make sure they are in working order, too.

Filters

Several different air and fuel filters are involved in keeping contaminants and various debris from entering the engine and potentially causing harm. The oil filter, vapor canister filter, and crankcase vent filter can become clogged and dirty over time, making them less effective. They should all be inspected and changed as needed—and we may even have an applicable Mazda service special!

Fuel Pump

The fuel pump is what keeps your engine consistently supplied with fuel. If something is off with the pump, your car may hesitate to start, and act sluggish while driving. A bad or failing fuel pump may also cause poor fuel efficiency.

Timing Elements

The engine of your Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring is comprised of thousands of working parts that all have to work in sync to make your car move. A timing belt or chain helps connect the pieces together and keeps them beating in the right rhythm. The more miles you put on your car, the more you need to make sure the belt is still in good shape, or if you have a timing chain, that it stays properly lubricated.

If you want your engine to last as long as you’re happy with your Mazda vehicle, schedule an appointment with our service department at Medlin Mazda. We’ll take a look at all the parts!
