November 2nd, 2018 by

Veterans Day is almost here! It’s the time of the year where we as a country take a moment to honor those that have helped serve to keep our country free and prosperous. There are numerous ways we show our appreciation, from ceremonies to discounts. Here are some of the things happening in Wilson and North Carolina for Veterans Day

LOCAL VETERANS DAY CEREMONIES AND PARADES

It’s important that we all take some time out of our day on Veterans Day to honor and show our appreciation for those that have served. For that, there are multiple different ceremonies and events happening that people can attend.

In Wilson, there is the Veterans Day Program being held at the Wilson County Courthouse from 2-4 p.m. on Veterans Day. Or, in nearby Rocky Mount, there’s always a ceremony at the Veteran’s Memorial at Jack Laughery Park.

And, there’s the annual North Carolina State Veterans Day Parade & Ceremony. If you’ve never had the chance to see this ceremony that includes over 100 groups and 1,300 personnel, it’s worth the trip! Learn more, here.

VETERANS DAY DISCOUNTS IN NORTH CAROLINA AND NATIONWIDE

We also like to show our appreciation to Veterans by offering them discounts and specials exclusively to them on Veterans Day and other days. You can find local North Carolina Veterans Day discounts for things to do like zoos and parks, here. Those interested can also find restaurant, retail and service discounts for a variety of services from a haircut to a hotel stay from national brands, here.
